Taxi Cab
I took these photographs back in 1983-84 at my place of work, a taxicab in and around San Francisco, Ca. I had taken to cab driving as a way to support myself through graduate school in quest of a MFA. Driving cab seemed an available gig to get into while offering me flexibility to mold around my schedule. That it was, and so much more.It also provided me with a theme and venue for my next project. Using a small camera mounted discretely on the dashboard, I photographed the cab at random moments on the trips from here to there. It offered a mirror on the reality I found myself being a small part of, in other words it was an introvert's dream. Fit me so well.

Image size 13x19 inch (gsp) matted on 4 ply museum board,(20x24) $600.
